The MOT program has provided me with numerous opportunities for research in areas that I would have otherwise not explored. For esample, I was able to research IT as it applies to the auto industry and discovered that it is a top innovator -- globally, but especially and counter intuitively in the US. In another example, I was able to research the impact of the imploding economy on startup companies generally and technology companies in particular, and discovered that that venture capital was as 'plentiful' as usual and vitrually immune to the tumultuous economy. In yet another example, I was able to research my company's target customers, the changing economics and applicable changes to my business model.

I wonder if VC is actually under more pressure to find investments. A lot of money that goes into VC companies is from places like retirement funds. The alternatives for these funds, stocks and bonds, kind of stink now, so perhaps they're putting money into VC even more than before. what do you think?
