My book

It has been a long time since I posted in this journal. I wanted to share with you a relatively new piece of software that I discovered recently. Last summer, I went on a trip to South Africa and took a lot of pictures of Cape Town, and a safari I went on. Usually, the pictures stay in my computer for a long time before I organize them in any kind of order. But then my friend Buena showed me a picture book that had been made of her mother's wedding which was so well done, I decided to see if I could do something like that with my pictures from my trip. I roamed around the Web and found blurb.com, which was on the Flickr website. I was able to download the application and spent many hours uploading pictures and my journal entries which I had kept while in SA. The result is my book called African Odyssey. I have 'published' it on the blurb site http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/696927.

Even if you do not have the inclination to be that elaborate, this software which is lightyears ahead of the old desktop publishing, is great for organizing your pictures and having a real keepsake of that vacation or event that was so exciting.
